Diagnosis and Management of Eye Disease

Advances in medical technology greatly assist our ability to diagnose and treat eye diseases like glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic eye disease.

At Family Optometry, we want to ensure that our patients receive the best care possible for conditions that might threaten their vision. That means investing in technology such as digital photography, optical coherence tomography, and corneal topography, as well as understanding and utilizing new research and treatment approaches, such as genetic testing for macular degeneration.

Dr. Eric Dale

Optometrist

A Wabash County native and IU School of Optometry graduate with a special interest in pediatric optometry — Dr. Dale has been with the practice since 2007.

Dr. Ashley Yearling

Optometrist

A 2012 IU School of Optometry graduate and Peru native — Dr. Yearling specializes in primary care, contact lenses, and the management of conditions like glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy.

Dr. Jack Derby

Optometrist

IU-trained optometrist who took over the Huntington practice from Dr. Hughes and Dr. Harman following their retirement — lives in Wabash with his wife and three daughters.

Dr. Kelsey Schlegelmilch

Optometrist

Residency-trained in ocular disease, with extensive experience in advanced corneal disease, urgent care, and specialty contact lens fittings — available at Wabash and Peru.

Dr. Anthony Offerle

Optometrist

Fort Wayne native and IU School of Optometry graduate — specializes in primary eye care, contact lenses, and management of ocular diseases. Available at our Huntington location.
